The trek can be organized and is enjoyable throughout the year.
The best seasons are spring (Mar to May) and autumn (Oct to Nov) but they also attract a large number of trekkers from many countries. If you want to avoid busy season then you might want to trek in other months.
It is monsoon during July/August with late rain often affecting September too. Flights to Lukla can be delayed or cancelled frequently so you will need some extra days just in case. Otherwise, the area itself is very less affected and treks at this time are beautiful as ever.
We run a number of treks every year that you can join. Do not worry even if you do not find these dates suitable to you. We let small groups and even single trekkers to pick their own dates.
Indicators if treks are available: - Available, - Limited Availability, - Fully Booked/Unavailable

Who can do
this trek?
If you are
reasonably
fit, and
able to walk
for 6-7 hrs
with a small
backpack,
then you are
good for
this trek. However, there may be heavy snow on Cho La (5420) during December to February, which sometimes makes it difficult to cross over.

What about
altitude
sickness and
acclimatization?
Our
itineraries
are
carefully
planned that
keep plenty
of time to
rest and
gain
acclimatization
at high
altitudes.
Still on, it
is possible
to catch
Acute
Mountain
Sickness (AMS).
We suggest
not to rush
up to
altitude.
Drink plenty
of water,
and avoid
alcohol. Our
guides are
very
experienced
in noticing
the symptoms
of AMS early
on and they
will very
attentive to
help you.
Depending on
conditions,
you may have
to rest at a
place or
descend
down.
|
|
HOW LONG ARE
WALKING
HOURS?
Average
walking time
is 5 hours.
But
depending on
conditions,
you may have
to walk for
7 to 8 hrs.
Especially, the particular day of crossing Cho La could be as long as 8 hours. There will
be, however,
time for
rest, take
photograph
and enjoy
the scenery. |
